West Africa Launches Call for Innovations – Apply Now!

On August 4th, 2021, the WE4F West Africa Regional Innovation Hub, with the technical support of the GFA, was honored to inform innovative companies, and more specifically small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in West Africa of the official launch of the Regional Call for Innovations in the fields of water, energy and food. 

Countries eligible for the Call for Innovations: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo

The competition targets SMEs developing innovations that boost agricultural and food production and increase the income of small-scale farmers, specifically women and young people, by contributing to water and energy savings, and environmental protection (e.g., innovations in agricultural production, conservation, processing, transport and distribution). These solutions can be digital or non-digital, technological, organizational or financial in nature.

 

The winners of the regional competition for innovative SMEs in the fields of Water, Energy and Food will benefit from the technical and financial support (up to 180,000 USD) to promote their innovations in the sub-region and scale up.

 

Through this competition, the WE4F project aims to:

  • Support the development of sustainable, water- and/or energy-efficient innovations and approaches that guarantee food security.
  • Support entrepreneurs in selling their technologies to markets of different scales.
  • To create jobs through innovations in the field of renewable energy, water, energy and food.
