Challenges
In many developing countries, local fruit and vegetable markets are often saturated during peak production periods. Unfortunately, this surplus often results in significant post-harvest losses for producers. To address this problem we have created the solar dryer, which offers an interesting alternative for the valorization and securing of production.
Solutions
The solar dryer uses indirect light and forced ventilation to dehydrate produce. It utilizes a photovoltaic panel to supply energy for ventilation and has a charge regulator incorporated in the device, making it completely energy self-sufficient (off-grid). The device also includes a special thermal collector and has a single block system so that it can be used in rural areas by people with varying levels of education. The benefits of the device include reduced drying time, powerful energy savings, and overall high performance.
