In February 2025, Water and Energy for Food Grand Challenge ceased operations due to a Stop Work Order from the U.S. Agency for International Development, a key partner in the management and implementation of the program.

Thanks to the generous funding, support, and commitment of Sida to global food security as well as scaling of water-efficient and renewable energy innovations, WE4F has in collaboration with Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Norad been re-launched for a six-month period through International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

During this time, the program will focus on providing technical support to innovators, highlighting program impact, innovator results and documenting lessons learned and recommendations for future programming.
