The drought situation in Burkina Faso poses a major challenge to the vast majority of smallholders in accessing water for crop irrigation as well as drinking water.
Solutions
Because of this challenge, Solafrique offers drilling services and the use of solar pumps for irrigation and drinking water. The smart solar pumps are able to be monitored remotely and are accessible to farmers through innovative financing and management systems such as Pay-As-You-Go, Pay-As-You-Pump, and the use of digital payment through smart cards and/ or mobile money.
