Release of WE4F Compendium: Showcasing Innovations, Partnerships and Impact in East and West Africa

We are delighted to announce the release of a brand-new compendium featuring partners and activities implemented in East and West Africa. In a world increasingly challenged by food insecurity, climate change, water scarcity, and rising energy demands, this compendium highlights innovative solutions and impactful collaborations aimed at addressing these critical issues.

The almost 200 pages are a testament to the innovative ideas and technologies driving change in the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus, particularly across 15 countries in East and West Africa. It features a wide array of groundbreaking solutions such as solar-powered irrigation systems, cold storage innovations, organic fertilizers, energy-efficient food processing methods, and digital credit systems. These advancements are making a real difference by empowering smallholder farmers and providing them with access to crucial resources, financing, and market opportunities.

The collective efforts of WE4F and its partners in East and West Africa alone have already yielded significant results. To date, their initiatives have positively impacted 328,900+ smallholder farmers, facilitated the growth of 670.000+ tons of food, saved 52 million+ kilowatt-hours of energy, and reduced water usage by 5.3 billlion+ litres.

While much has been accomplished, the journey towards sustainable food systems is ongoing. Over the past four years, WE4F partners have not only empowered individual farmers but also transformed entire communities, influenced policy changes, boosted local economies, and advanced scientific knowledge. Their ongoing efforts are essential in driving further progress and catalyzing change at local, regional, and global levels.

Join us in exploring the transformative power of innovation and partnership as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of WE4F and its partners in the Compendium!
